Lorna Road Circle K robbed by man with knife early Tuesday morning; suspect arrested

HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) -- UPDATE: Hoover Police have made an arrest following a robbery at a convenience store.

Investigators have charged 18-year-old Nicholas Gray with Robbery in the First Degree.

ORIGINAL: According to the Hoover Police Department, there was an armed robbery at the Circle K/BP convenience store on Lorna Road at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. A male with a knife and dressed in all black entered the convenience store and demanded money from the clerk.

The armed male and the clerk had a brief struggle, but then the suspect fled the store on foot towards the Walmart Neighborhood Market and Lorna Place Apartments. He had an undetermined amount of cash.

The clerk has a small cut on his hand, but it did not require any medical attention.
