Tuscaloosa PD reportedly bust GA man selling hemp lollipops from "WeedWorldCandies" van

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- Tuscaloosa police say they arrested a Georgia man selling hard candies made with hemp and other chemical agents on University Blvd Saturday evening after finding marijuana and cocaine inside his van.

The arrest happened after investigators saw a van advertising "WeedWorldCandies" parked on the strip with several people standing around it. When they approached the van, they saw the suspect selling lollipops to passerby.

Officials searched the vehicle and found about 100 lollipops of different flavors made with hemp and other chemical agents, a small amount of cocaine HCL, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,406.

Police say they arrested 40-year-old Desmond Love Brown of Georgia. Brown was charged with unlawful posession of marijuana, unlawful posession of cocaine, unlawful posession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. They say they also plan to obtain a warrant for doing business without a license. Brown is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending $29,000 bond.
