Game of the Week: Hillcrest vs. Tuscaloosa County

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – This week's Jim Burke Auto High School Game of the Week sees some bad blood out on the field.

Druid City football fans bore witness to a 6A grudge match in Tuscaloosa, in which Hillcrest hosted Tuscaloosa County.

On one side, the undefeated Patriots with five wins, and on the other, a team trying to play spoiler.

The two schools are separated by just 15 miles This game doesn't count toward a regional title, but it means a whole lot to the people in Tuscaloosa

"It means something for them to be able to go to the mall all summer and have that 'H' on their chest," said Sam Adams, head coach at Hillcrest High.

After a good start to the season, Tuscaloosa County has limped to a 2-3 record.

Last week, they set the record for the biggest loss in school history at the hands of Hoover, and now they have to try and stop Alabama commit Brian Robinson.

But Head Coach Bart Sessions and the rest of the Tuscaloosa County crew are looking forward to the challenge.

"You know and we're going to have to go pressure the quarterback and get hits on the quarterback," Sessions said.
