BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) - A Bessemer man was killed on Monday night after a domestic argument, according to Sgt. Miles with Bessemer Police.
D'Timothy Wilson, 18, was shot around 9:55 p.m. on the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue. Officers responded to a 911 call from the female driver of the vehicle, who told police that she was being assaulted and she needed paramedics and an ambulance.
Police arrived at the scene to find the woman sitting on the curb and Wilson inside the vehicle. Timothy was pronounced dead around 19:18 p.m.
The woman was taken into custody, but officials at the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office refused to issue charges immediately in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.

With a vote of 22 to 0, the Alabama Senate passed a bill on Monday that would add a 3 percent tax on car rentals and leases in Jefferson County. The money would be earmarked for the construction of a stadium and also for needed improvements at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Complex.Read More »
