Bibb County Sheriff found dead in Bibb County Sheriff's Office

CENTREVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) -- UPDATE Dec. 9, 2016: The Bibb County District Attorney says Sheriff Keith Hannah died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the coroner's preliminary report.

UPDATE: Bibb County Sheriff's Office is set to speak about Sheriff Hannah, who was found dead Wednesday morning.

Bibb County Sheriff Keith Hannah was found shot to death at the Bibb County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday morning, Deputy Kevin Lawrence with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said.

Sheriff Hannah has served at least 29 years on the department, working at least 16 years as the sheriff.

Many residents are gathering at the Sheriff's Office, along with many police officers from nearby communities.

ALEA will investigate this case. Bibb County District Attorney Michael Jackson says there is no foul play suspected.
