FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) -- The mother of a three-month-old child left brain dead has been charged with aggravated child abuse.

According to Fairfield police chief Nick Dyer, the parents were arguing Monday afternoon when the baby was injured at a home in the Mattie T. Jackson Apartments in the 6700 block of Avenue D. The child was declared brain-dead later at Children's of Alabama.
