SBI investigating campus officer-involved shooting at University of North Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala. (WIAT) -- The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting in Florence. It happened on the University of North Alabama campus.

A UNA police officer tried to pull over a woman in a parking lot early Sunday morning.

According to investigators, the driver attempted to run over the officer. The officer fired multiple times hitting the vehicle.

The driver led officers on a chase until she hit a telephone pole.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) officials are investigating.
