NAACP provides free rides to polls

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Volunteers with the NAACP picked up voters who couldn't get to the polls themselves Tuesday for U.S Senate Election.

There were 15 chapters around the state taking voters from their homes to their polling sites and then back home again.

An NAACP spokesperson tells CBS 42 that this election is very important and they we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to get the polls to cast their vote.

Daniel Felder lives in the Kingston community and got a ride. He said there's no excuse not to vote today and he wants his vote to count.

"Voters it's really important to get out and vote to cast your votes so go vote for the best candidate," Felder said.
